North Pole

A land of 24 hour daylight, where the sun never dips below the horizon. A land of cracking and groaning ice, where pressure ridges and open leads appear in crazy, random patterns. Whiteouts. Sub-zero temperatures. Howling winds. A land where drifting ice can push you back several miles while you sleep. The early Arctic explorers endured extreme hardships for weeks and months to attain their goal of reaching the North Pole. Today, the Pole can be reached in a very short time and in relative comfort with the use of aircraft.
Mountain Adventures now offers a middle alternative for those with the true spirit of adventure - The Last Degree. An opportunity to walk in the footprints of Peary, challenge this forbidding land, and join the few who have stood at the top of the world. Our pilot will fly you to 89 degrees north latitude. Using Inuit guides, you'll make a week-long, self-contained trek on foot the last sixty miles to 90 degrees noth latitude. The North Pole. From the Pole we will be airlifted back to our base at Resolute Bay.

For those who want to experience the polar region without the rigors of overland travel, we will have a limited number of seats available for the pick-up flight. You can fly to the North Pole for the rendezvous with the expedition team and share their stories and experiences during the return flight.
