At an altitude of over 12,000ft, the older part of La Paz provides the perfect opportunity to acclimatize while exploring this historic
and intriguing city.
You'll spent a few days here preparing for the climb and visiting the Witchcraft maket, the Indian markets, and
other vendors of local crafts, food, fabric and jewelry.
We'll take you through the "Zona Sur", the modern southern section of La
Paz, and continue out into the countryside where you'll see spectacular and unusual scenery on the way to the trailhead for the start
of the four-day ascent.
